Master’s degree program: Algebra I (MTH 501), Real Analysis I (MTH 502) and
Topology I (MTH 503) or Geometry I (MTH 514) - 3 courses in total. Students passing a
course with A or A+ can take an oral exam in the corresponding subject instead of a
written exam.

Ph. D. degree program : All students must pass 3 courses among Probability I (MTH
505), Applied Mathematics I (MTH 506), Complex Analysis (MTH 507), Algebra II
(MTH 601), Real Analysis II (MTH 603), Topology I (MTH 503) or Topology II (MTH
605), and Geometry I (MTH 514) or Geometry II (MTH 621). Students passing a course
with A or A+ can take an oral exam in the corresponding subject instead of a written
exam.

Students in the integrated Master & Ph. D. degree program should pass both
comprehensive examinations mentioned above. Students passing a course with A or
